Introducing Constanze Elaine

She's finally here! After 33 months we have a daughter. She was born on February 20, 2008 (exactly 2 years after our LID). She is in an orphanage in Yujiang County, Jiangxi Province. All of the information we have on her is from July so it's a bit old. Regardless, my favorite tidbit is that she is "obstinate sometimes". I think my dad is hoping I get a little karmic payback! We have an appointment with a pediatrician on Tuesday. She specializes in international adoption and will be able to give us an idea of how big our little girl will be when we bring her home. Of course we plan on discussing many other issues as well, but I'd like to know what size clothes she'll need!
Honestly, I loved this kid long before she was even conceived. After seeing her photos my heart is bursting.

  26. Congratulations on your new daughter. I also have a duaghter from YuJiang. It is highly probable that youe little one is in Foster care, very few stay at the orphanage. Girls from this area tend to be on the smaller size and are very beautiful. Come and join our yahoo group. There are lots of pics there.

  32. Your daughter is ab fab! So precious! Her name Constanze reminds me of Mozart's wife's name, in Amadeus (he called her 'Stanzee' in the movie.
    Cool name, lovely daughter.

  33. As a matter of fact, AMADEUS is exactly where we got the name. Monica and I were both teenagers when we saw it (not together--we didn't even know each other then) and we loved the name. And yes, we plan on calling her Stanzi.

  35. From the Mom of another Jiangxi Beauty, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! She really is beautiful! I read your recent post. I think your concerns are so normal. All mothers worry about their babies, whether in the womb or in the care of someone else until they are finally in their arms. And, don't worry about forgetting something. If you have the paperwork you need (and copies!) along with your passport, and your camera, you will have everything you need. You can get anything else you may forget in China!!!

Blessings for am amazing trip to Nanchang!
